Michael's first startup, ProRank, started over drinks with a longtime friend who needed something built – and the market had no strong contender. After rapidly prototyping an algorithm, they validated the demand quickly. When COVID struck and eliminated that first partner-client, Michael pivoted ProRank into healthcare, building the first AI-enabled healthcare-specialized talent sourcing platform.
He hit the road, raised $5M in a seed round, and over the next two years built a 12-person team that shipped 5 distinct market-viable products. In August 2025, ProRank merged with Goodwork – a strategic acquisition that accelerated Michael's original vision of a full graduation-to-retirement talent solution in healthcare.
